I am 70 yrs old. My Dr. said my urethra is spread open sort of like a flower bud blooming. It is not sore or does not cause any discomfort. She gave me Premarin to apply to the area. Is that cancer causing and is there any over-the-counter meds I can use? Thank you
What you are describing sounds like a a caruncle which generally requires no treatment. Some of the urethral mucosa may be prolapsing out. This generally does not cause problems. The cream is not unreasonable. It would then be worth following up with your doctor to reexamine.
