Burning Gums

03/31/2009

Question:

I have just had a new set of dentures made. This is my 4th set over the last 25 years. My gums are burning when I wear this new set. On all previous sets my gums never had a burning sensation. If I put my old set in there is no burning sensation.

Answer:

It may be some kind of allergic reaction to the material. Check this problem with your dentist who fabricated the new dentures. You may need a new set of dentures fabricated with a different kind of acrylic if the burning sensation doesn?t go away in couple weeks.
