Is pus cells normal in the semen? What does it mean when present? What leads to deformed sperm head and what can be the solution?
Pus cells (called white blood cells) can be seen in normal semen, but only in very small numbers. If you have a large number of white blood cells in your semen, this can damage the sperm temporarily and decrease fertility. If this is the case, you should see a urologist interested in fertility. He or she will examine you and most likely treat you with antibiotics. Once the infection is treated, fertility returns to normal as long as the most important aspects of the semen analysis (count, motility and morphology) are normal.
