Old retainers changing shape04/03/2009 |
I saw an old post about a question regarding wearing old retainers. Is it true retainers change shape if not kept moist? If I try putting on an old retainer (and it does seem to fit okay) would I actually be doing harm by wearing it? (it has been about 5 years since the last wear)
It will do no harm to try to wear your old retainer, but if you cannot get it to fit properly you may need a new impression and have a new one constructed. The retainer should be kept slightly moist when not being worn.
