Tortuous colon04/27/2009 |
I get severe abdominal pains due to constipation. My colonscopy shows a long and tortuous colon. My gastroenterologist recommended that I use Kristalose (10 grams) daily. I eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and consume a large amount of liquids daily. I there anything else that I can do to help relieve the discomfort and help to avoid constipation? Thanks in advance for your response.
If dietary means are not working well, then laxatives may need to be used. Kristalose is one; there are many others. Try to avoid stimulant laxatives if at all possible, as there may be long term implications from their use.
