Cross bite at 56 years old05/18/2009 |
Both sides of my tongue are disfigured and extremely sore because of cross bite. I had braces for 4 years as a child and now have to have them again. How do I make the pain go away on my tongue?
Unfortunately, getting rid of the pain on your tongue is not very easy. If your dentist feels that braces will correct it, that is definitely your best bet. Otherwise, you will be relying on topical anesthetics that are not only going to numb your tongue. When your tongue would be numb, you are at much higher risk of biting it and not knowing that you have done it.
