Pulmonary function tests06/09/2009 |
I had a PFT done because I have pulmonary hypertension. My Lung specialist told me that I have above average lung function. What is meant by that? Does that volume of air that my lungs take in is more then the average person?
We predict how much air would flow in the lungs based on the individual's age, gender, race, and height. That is the "average". Some people may do better than what is predicted. What that means is you have normal lung function.
