Kidney Pain and Alcohol06/05/2009 |
My husband has only 1 kidney. He drinks a lot and now he is complaining about pain in his kidney.
It is possible that his pain is not coming from his kidney, but rather from muscles in his back, or from his liver, for instance. See the link to our article on "Kidney Pain." If, after reading it, he thinks that the pain is coming from his kidney, he needs to be seen by his doctor right away. The pain may mean that the kidney is blocked, and in a person with only one kidney, this is a very serious matter.
