Urinary and Genital Disorders (Children)

Three children all with blood in urine

I have 2 boys and 1 girl all of whom when they get checkups have microscopic blood in urine. But doctors have said all of them for different reasons. The oldest boy had influenza and got strep throat. The influenza was treated by a doctor, but neither of us realized the strep till he had Post streptococcal glomrulonephritis. The second boy has hardening of the bladder walls and bladder spasms. The youngest our daughter has never been tested to see why. Is it possible they are missing something here and maybe there is a genetic link?

There are some families in which multiple family members have microscopic amounts of blood in their urine. Often this condition is evaluated and managed by pediatric nephrologists. If your doctor has determined a cause for the blood in the urine for your children, there is no further cause for concern.
