Athletic Training

Jogging after knee replacement

why is jogging aftera paritalknee replacement not recommended. Is not the joint stable enough to withstand the pressure?

Most typically after joint replacement, whether partial or total, jogging/running is not recommended because of the stress to the joint and structures in and around the area. If you are interested in resuming some sort of exercise plan, I would recommend a follow-up visit to your physician so he can review with you an appropriate exercise plan based on your surgery and the goals you have for physical fitness. Good luck!
