Cervical Fusion Done 14 Years Ago08/10/2009 |
Having similar symptons as before fusion. I have had an MRI and will have a CT in the next 2 days. I had used my hip bone for a 2 level fusion between 5, 6 and 6, 7. Now 14 years later it seems as if the fusion didn`t heal properly and I may need another surgery. As explained to me it will be more invasive surgery, in the back of my neck instead of the front. I am very aprehensive at this point, I understand that I could have worse problems in 10 - 20 years. I am 53 year old healthy male who has good health insurance. Not sure about coverage in 10-20 years. Any suggestions?
Hello, thank you for your question. My suggestion is get a second opinion, preferably from a surgeon with plenty of experience dealing with cervical spine problems. Good luck, and I hope it turns out well.
