Pus in Urine Along with Kidney Disease08/11/2009 |
My sister suffers from kidney disease and she`s been having a lot of pain in her right kidney. She went to the doctor to have blood and urine tests completed. Her doctor called her back and told her that its possible she could have a kidney infection or UTI. The doctor also said it could be more serious but would have to do further tests (which they are currently doing). I was wondering what "more serious" could entail.
I don't know what blood and urine tests the doctor did. Some possibilities are; finding protein in the urine, an abnormal serum creatinine on the blood test (it is a marker of kidney function). Both these could be related to the UTI but can also be markers of abnormal kidney function.
