Hemodialysis and Calcification08/11/2009 |
My question is: is there any solution or treatment of calcification in hemodialysis patients? Or is there a possibility of reducing the level of calcification in blood vessels? Thank you.
Control phosphorous levels so that they remain normal, with a phosphate binder. Use a phosphate binder that does not contain calcium. Use a dialysate that is low in calcium. Control BP and blood sugar (if you are diabetic). Use cholesterol lowering agents. Control hyperparathyroidism.
