Irregular Period10/07/2009 |
I`m 42 years old, and this month I only had 1 day of bleeding during my period. The other days, I only noticed spotting. On 3rd day of menstrual cycle I had intercourse and heavy bleeding occured. Next day I was only spotting again. Is this normal, or is there some type of obstruction preventing blood flow?
I highly suggest you visit your doctor. There are a number of causes this can be from: a thyroid issue, hormonal imbalance, previous surgeries (if any on the lining of the uterus) or birth control pills.
Make sure you have a copy of your menses from previous months where you marked when menses started until it ended. This will help your doctor figure out whether it's a hormone problem versus other causes. I hope this helped.
