Finding a Doctor who Knows about ALPS

09/24/2009

Question:

I am trying to find a doctor who knows about the ALPS. Please I need help.

Answer:

I believe you are asking about autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS) which is a genetic disorder that affects the immune system.

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is doing research on ALPS. The website is listed below. You might want to contact one of the nurses listed on the NIAID website; they are both in Bethesda, MD. They will have more information about how to find a doctor who works with people with ALPS. They are:

Susan Price, R.N.
Phone: 301-496-8412
E-mail: pricesu@niaid.nih.gov

Joie Davis, P.N.P.
Phone: 301-435-6691
E-mail: jdavis@niaid.nih.gov
