How many years do people live after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s?
People with Parkinson's disease can live a very long time, and the life expectancy varies based on individual problems and other medical issues.
With the average age of onset of symptoms being around 60 years of age, life expectancy may be anywhere from 15-20 years if no other major health issues exist. Younger onset people often have longer life spans as well.
There have been some reports of life expectancy being the same as that of the general population, or slightly shorter.
Basically, this is not something that can be predicted based on when the diagnosis of disease is made.
