Snellen Vision Translation

Question:

I have contacts and cannot find my Snellen translation into 20/__. I have -6.5 in my left eye and -4.75 in my right. What is the 20/__ and is it correctable?

Answer:

With the contact lenses correcting your vision, your Snellen translation should be close to 20/20 in each eye. Without any eyeglass or contact lens correction, your Snellen translation would most likely be no better than 20/400.
