Uvulectomy12/28/2009 |
Hi, i have trouble starting to talk from birth, once started to talk i can talk little better. I had lots of inflammation in my throat as i had huge tonsils. i removed my tonsils and adenoids 2 years back and about 50% of inflammation is reduced but it is still there, i guess because of long uvula. I feel like if i undergo uvula removal surgery, it can help cure inflammation and my speech will be better. Can uvula be responsible for stuttering and can its removal cure it??
The uvula usually does not cause stuttering. You should see an Otolaryngologist who works with a speech and language pathologist.
