Unusual pain in crease of leg

02/18/2010

Question:

I have been experiencing pain in the crease of my right leg, some times its just pain, and other times its a twitch feeling. I am part of a lot of running programs, and we just took 3 weeks off and are back to running 6-8 miles a day. What could be the problem?

Answer:

The term "crease" in your leg could mean at the upper thigh/groin region, behind the knee, or perhaps another location, with of course different potential causes for pain, depending on where it's located. You are asking for a diagnosis, which needs to be based on a medical history and physical examination, and possibly also imaging studies. If your pain is interfering with desired activity and/or not improving, please consult with your physician.
