Constant throat clearing a sign of problem?01/06/2010 |
My son has developed a habit of clearing his throat constantly- several times a minute. Our doctor has prescribed claritin and flonase but the medications haven`t helped. Is this a sign of a problem that needs to be looked at by an ENT?
This sounds like a tic behavior but an ENT exam would be appropriate to rule out other causes. Psychological evaluation/management would be useful if this is behavioral.
