Dear Expert,I am a new user of birth control pill. I wonder why I need to skip the pill for 7 days after I finish 21 tablets from the pack. Is it still safe to have sex without protection during that last 7 days even though my period usually last 4 days only?
The 7 day pill free-interval is to allow for withdrawal bleeding (your period). It is safe to have sex during that time without extra contraception. Women taking the pill often have short periods, 3-4 days.
