Broken Fibia01/22/2010 |
My sister got hit by a car on her knee. The MRI showed that her fibia was split down the middle. It is not across but down the middle of the bone. Can you tell me what the normal treatment for that type of fracture is and is surgery usually done?
Thank you for your question. There are actually 2 bones in the lower leg; one is the tibia and one is fibula. I am not sure which one you mean. There would be different treatment options depending on which bone is broken.
