Urine Infection PSA Radical Prostatectomy02/03/2010 |
In 2002 my PSA was 4.2 and my Gleason was 6 (3+3). I had a radical prostatectomy that same year. My PSA has been <0.1 through July of 2009 (87 months). In Jan. 2010 I had a PSA test coincidentally on the same day that I had an untreated E. coli urinary infection. That PSA test was 0.43. Question: Is it possible that the urinary infection could stimulate benign prostate cells left behind from my 2002 surgery to produce the 0.43 PSA result??
