Adenocarcinoma-Colon Cancer

02/16/2010

Question:

I was diagnosed in Nov. 09 with Cancer. My oncologist thinks it is colon cancer. I have had CT scans, endoscopy, and a PET scan. The source of my abdominal tumors cannot be determined.

I am undergoing chemo now since Dec. 09 every two weeks to try to shrink tumors so surgery can be performed.

The treatment is Avastin,Eloxatin,Leucovorin,and 5FU.

I am wondering if I have other options since it is stage 4.

Answer:

There are multiple options for patients with your stage of cancer. The treatment you are currently receiving is one of standard options. If it works, then no need to change.
