Pea sized raised area under breast

04/06/2010

Question:

I have a small (pea sized) raised area under my left breast. The skin is dark purple and shiney with a light red area around it. I am not experiencing any pain, warmth, discharge, itching or discomfort from it but am concerned about what it might be. I have a strong family history of breast cancer (mother, grandmother, great grandmother). There is no sign of any bite mark on he top of the raised area just a purplish color. The raised area is solid not appearing to be fluid filled. Should I be concerned about this? I am 47 and had a total abdominal hysterectomy 5 years ago.
