Menopause

Unusual Weight Gain

04/15/2010

Question:

I gained 15 pounds in 3 months without any reason. It all is in my abdominal and hip area. My food intake was healthy and remained the same. I actually increased my exercising and it seems worse. I am 50 and have not had my period for 10 months. What could cause this?

Answer:

That amount of weight gain would not be due to menopause. It is important for you to see your physician.
