Lexapro vs Escitalopram05/25/2010 |
Several years I`m taking Lexapro, but cannot afford it anymore. Is escitalopram absolutely same drug or there are differences? Thanks.
Lexapro is the brand name of the drug, escitalopram.
A generic drug is the same as a brand name drug in dosage, safety, strength, quality and the way it works and is used.
In the United States, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requires generic drugs to have the same quality, strength, purity and stability as the brand name drug.
