Lump06/10/2010 |
firm lump behind right knee only. Been there for a few years. Started running again recently, and the lump seems a bit larger and more firm since 3 days of running. Has mild pain. Lump is long, not round,,1/2" by 1 1/2"...thank you!!
Since this lump hasn't disappeared and has in fact become larger, the best advice is for you to consult with your physician, who can perform a medical history, physical examination, and probably also, imaging studies- which could include X-rays, and/or ultrasound, and/or an MRI scan - to help determine whether this lump is cystic (fluid-filled, such as a Baker's cyst or ganglion cyst) vs. solid (such as a lipoma, which is a fatty tumor).
