Pulmonary Fibrosis06/21/2010 |
my husband has end stages of pulmonary fibrosis. His heart and also his bladder have just been tested and both have thickening walls. is this due to the pulmonaary fibrosis?
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis only affects the lungs and does not cause fibrosis of other organs such as the heart or bladder. Other conditions can cause abnormalities of the lung, heart and kidney. These other conditions can sometimes mimic idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Sometimes a biopsy is required to be certain that there is no other disease causing the interstitial lung disease.
