Can Arcoxia Affect Pregnancy?07/15/2010 |
I have severe RA and been trying for pregnancy. Am concerned that I have been put onto 90mg Arcoxia. Can this affect ovulation? And is there any information on whether it can affect the foetal development? As cox 2 inhibitors are considered a `new` drug (+/- 10 years old) is there any research that you are aware of? Many thanks!
Recent information indicates that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents (NSAIDs) like Arcoxia can increase the risk of miscarriage and decrease fertility. They are not recommended to be taken by pregnant women. Ask you doctor about disease-modifying agents that may be safer during pregnancy.
