I just want to ask if a person has COPD and she is 24/7 with her oxygen in 3 litres, what will happen to her if her oxygen is off from 6 to 8 hours?
The question about intermittent use of oxygen is difficult to answer without more details. However, in general it depends upon how critical is the need for oxygen supplementation and a host of other factors related to the individual person. There are several long-term studies ongoing currently that are attempting to address some of these important questions so we may be able to provide more definitive recommendations in the next few years.
