Do I have Lung Cancer or Pre-Cancer?07/27/2010 |
I have a history of lung nodules (one old and one fairly new). I also have a lot of scarring in my apices of my lungs. Should I get more than a chest xray once in awhile? And will physicians order blood work for cancer or PET scan, so that I can be sure that I don`t have lung cancer? I cough and am short of breath, but also have a history of sleep apnea, and asthma.
Usually nodules are followed with serial CT scans. CXRs are not sensitive enough to detect cancer early and PET scans are also not the best test.
