Pulmonary Hypertension08/24/2010 |
I have RA and PH. I had test done and have no other problems with my lungs except PH. My doctor told me that he see no signs of my RA effecting my lungs. I have a yearly echo to check the pressure. Last time the pressure was estimated at 37. Can you tell me what the different class of ph based on the pressure numbers.
Pulmonary Hypertension implies that the pressure in the vessels that take blood thru the lung is high. This could be due to many different causes. The different classes of pulmonary hypertension are based on what could be causing the pulmonary hypertension. You describe a mild increase in the pressures suggested by the echocardiogram. How high the pressures truly are and if it is related to the RA can only be determined by additional testing and a right heart catheterization.
