Brain TB08/23/2010 |
My wife is suffering from Brain T B. Please clarify whether this is communicable disease? Pl also inform what precautions family members should take to avoid any infection to them.
Typically tuberculosis isolated to the brain would not be transmissible to other persons. The question to ask your physician is whether there is any evidence of tuberculosis in her lung as well. TB is only transmissible if it involves the lung or vocal cords. Other forms of TB cannot be spread to others and no special precautions are needed.
