Severe Joint Pain!!08/14/2010 |
my mother has been dx w/ pf. she is experiencing severe joint pain, along with hot flashes that raise her temperature. my question is, can pf cause these sxs? pls advise we are very troubled.thank you for your time.
These symptoms are unusual for pulmonary fibrosis alone (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis or IPF). Many patients can develop pulmonary fibrosis as a result of other diseases such as autoimmune diseases like lupus, scleroderma or rheumatoid arthritis. These diseases can cause joint symptoms and pain that you are describing. These symptoms can also be related to medications or infection. It would be best to discuss whether your mother has an underlying autoimmune disease or other cause of her symptoms with her physician.
