Dry Eyes08/25/2010 |
I have dry eyes and I have been forgeting to use my eye drops. Now my eyes are always watering. Can dry eyes cause my eyes to water?
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. It may seem unusual, but dry eyes can actually cause excessive tearing or watering. Moderate to severe dryness of the ocular surface can stimulate an overproduction of tears to try to compensate for the dryness that is present.
I recommend scheduling an appointment with your eye care provider for possible further dry eye testing and treatment as well as management options available for your specific dry eye symptoms.
