Eye Floaters and Flashes

Question:

I have eye floaters and flashes.

Can they cause loss of balance problems?

Answer:

While these symptoms can be distracting, it is unlikely that eye floaters and flashes cause a loss of balance or an onset of dizziness. However, if you have experienced an increase in eye floaters or onset of flashes, I recommend that you schedule with your eye doctor for a dilated eye exam to ensure that the retinal tissue is healthy in the back part of the eye. 

I also recommend scheduling with your primary care physician to make sure there is no underlying systemic condition associated with the loss of balance. Thank you for visiting NetWellness and best wishes.
