First Visit to the Dentist09/28/2010 |
My youngest child is 15 months and is just starting to get her baby teeth. How soon should I take her to the dentist?
Thanks for the question. The recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is all children should be seen by a dentist by the age of 1 year (or when the first tooth erupts). This allows the dentist to establish a dental home, which is a regular source of dental care and information for parents.
Hope this helps!
