Pulmonary Fibrosis

CT scan Results 11/02/2010

Question:

My CT scan results say that i have Pulmary Fibrosis,in both hemitorax. plus a 1cm Nodule on the left side of the lung what wil happen now

I live in Spain so this is a spainish report have an appointment with the consultant in Nov.

Answer:

Finding fibrosis on a CT scan can be the result of several lung diseases. These diseases maybe related to exposures, medications, autoimmune disorders but sometimes no underlying cause can be found. 

 
Based on your medical history, overall health and further testing results including blood tests and lung function testing, your physician may recommend a lung biopsy to determine which lung disease is causing the fibrosis. Based on this, further treatment can be recommended for you.
