Bumps on My Lips
Hello. I have little bumps on the inside of my upper and lower lips. They are not on the red part of my lips, but on the part that touches my teeth. They don`t hurt, I was just wondering if this is normal. Thank you!
What you describe sounds like the normal minor (accessory) salivary glands found inside the upper and lower lips as well as much of the remaining inner lining of the mouth. Hundreds of these small glands (roughly 2 to 3 millimeters in size) provide additional lubrication inside the mouth to help with swallowing of food. They also provide the saliva (spit) that keeps your lips and cheeks from sticking to the outer surfaces of your teeth.
