Creatine Levels11/17/2010 |
My husband just had major surgery. He has only 1 kidney and his creatin levels are going up. As of yesterday it was 115. He has been in hospital 15 days. Each day it goes up. Is this serious?
I think you are sending this message from the UK because the creatinine that you report is likely to be in micromoles/L, which has a different range of normal values than we use in USA. In any case, if the creatinine is changing rapidly there may be multiple causes. You do not provide enough information to answer determine the reason. Keep this in mind; even if it changes rapidly, it does not mean that it is permanent. At the level you report he is not in need of dialysis, assuming he is otherwise not critically ill.
