White Spots on Soft Palate11/30/2010 |
I am a hygienist and have a patient that frequently has small white spots on his soft palate & uvula- they appear uniform, round & hard- possibly calcified?- He is a mouthbreather & uses inhalers- pt doesn`t notice them & has no soreness or symptoms- They come & go- look like whiteheads {acne]? Any idea-
With your description of the lesion and its location, there is no lesion that presents itself in this manner. A similar lesion can sometimes be found in the tonsilar area. It is posible that it could be a reaction to the mouth breathing and the inhaler use.It would be best for the patient to visit an oral pathologist the next time these lesions appear.
