Tongue

12/10/2010

Question:

I have had my tongue pierced for about 1 month and acouple of weeks. And i noticed on the bottom of my tongue around my bellbar i have a like blister thing and its clear and it wont pop or anything it is verry annoying how would you say i get rid of it?

Answer:

Visit your dentist and have it evaluated. It is most likely not a serious problem but one that should be diagnosed.

Additional Information from Dr. Reed:
If there is only one, then you should have your dentist take a peek at it.  More than likely, you are feeling salivary glands on the bottom of your tongue.  The others may not be as noticable, but if you take a close look, you may see others.  If so, the one may be bothering you since the piercing may be slightly off one side or the other and irritated it.
