One Kidney01/12/2011 |
I have only one kidney. I lost my right kidney in 2008 and I am doing good. I just need to know what do I need to do or what vitamins I can take to keep off the kidney machine. I drink alcohol but not everyday -- only when I go out around friends. I am doing good. I have high blood pressure and I take 3 pills a day. I just need to ask what can I do to stay away from dialysis. I drink 4 glasses of water a day or more. This year I am getting up to 5 or 6. I just want to live. If I drink alcohol my doctor told me to mix it. I do not drink it straight. Do you think I will be ok?
This depends on your present kidney functions and how well your blood pressure is controlled. You should see a kidney specialist to monitor your kidney functions and advise about diet and fluid intake.
