Non-specific nodular density02/24/2011 |
73 year old male diabetic undergoing treatment for kidneys with cortizone -related medication.Routine chest x-ray revealed a non-specific nodular density right middle lobe, correlation with CT scan is recommended. The description of the nodule is "faint ovoid shape nodule" at the level of the right middle lobe laterally.
Question: Should we run to see a doctor because this may be cancer?
CXR is very nonspecific. I would agree that a chest CT would be the next step. Many things seen on CXR turn out to be nothing, but it should be checked out.
I hope this helps.
