Neck Pain02/15/2011 |
Is there a specific muscle relaxer for neck pain?
There is not muscle relaxers specifically indicated for neck pain. Depending on the cause of the pain, a physician may choose to target the pain with an NSAID drug like ibuprofen, or, if the pain is associated with the musculature, they may choose to treat it with a muscle relaxer. Most commonly, physicians will use a drug like cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), and they will most likely stay away from drugs that are used for more long-term muscle spasms, like baclofen.
