Panic Attacks after Sugery03/10/2011 |
I had a hysterectomy December 6 2010. Every morning since then - like clockwork, around 2:30 a.m., I wake up with panic attacks. My doctor said it has nothing to do with the surgery and has given me anti depressents which make me feel worse. It is very dibilitating. Is this common after surgery?
No, this is not a common occurrence after an uncomplicated surgery. I would recommend you talk to a mental health professional to assess for any anxiety or other mental illness that might be contributing to these issues, and to work to resolve your symptoms.
