Lump on Lower Leg
I have been running for the past few weeks. I have recently noticed after my run, I have a few lumps bulging out of both my lower legs (mostly left) around my shin area.. They are soft and do not hurt and go away after an hour or so. If i flex, you can see some smaller ones.. What should I do?
Although a diagnosis, and recommendations for evaluation and treatment, cannot be made over the Internet, possible causes for these lumps in your legs include muscle hernation (protrusion) through openings in the fascia (connective tissue covering muscles) in your legs, vs. the less likely possibility these are due to varicose veins.
It is a good sign you have neither pain nor numbness/tingling symptoms associated with these lumps, but should those symptoms develop, and/or should these lumps get larger or more numerous, consulting with your physician would certainly be appropriate.
