Can having tight chest muscles make it hard to breathe?
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. It is unlikely that the chest muscles themselves are impacting your breathing. However, the sensation of "tightness" in the chest may be associated with conditions such as asthma, especially if the tightness is associated with coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath during exercise or heavy activity. Obesity or curvature of the spine can sometimes make it harder to breathe as well.
