A mammogram or ultrasound of breast?

I have dense breast and have yearly mammogram with the breast ultrasound. My ob/gyn suggested since my results have been negative for years that I could have the mammogram every two years with a breast ultrasound in between the mammograms. Is this a good idea or should I have the mammogram yearly? I am 56 years old post menopausal.

You don't say why you were having the ultrasound with the mammogram. Usually, an ultrasound would not be done unless there was a specific reason to do it.  You may want to discuss this with your Primary Provider, but you should probably continue the annual mammogram, and perhaps skip the ultrasound, unless there is a specific reason for it.
